Lead Playworker
Job Purpose:
To co-ordinate a team to provide a caring and secure environment. To organise an appropriate range of activities for families and children within the Connect4Summer Project.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Activity Planning:
- To Co-ordinate a team to provide safe, creative and appropriate play opportunities for children and families including: preparing activities, organisation of the programme, arranging equipment, cleaning and preparing the venue for the following day
- To ensure that a wide range of activities are offered
- Ensure that play meets the full range of children’s individual and group needs
Liaison:
- To develop and maintain good relationships
- To conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times
- To encourage parental involvement and support through the development of effective working relationships
- To consult with the children, involving them in the planning of activities
Supervision and care of children:
- To ensure that activities are carried out in a safe and responsible manner in accordance with statutory responsibilities
- To adhere to Connect4Summer policy and procedure
- To ensure food provision is carried out within the guidelines of the food safety act 1990, and is balanced and healthy in accordance with dietary need
Miscellaneous:
- To ensure provision of good standards of physical and emotional care
- Ensure good standards of hygiene and cleanliness, maintained at all times
- To be responsible for the Health and Safety standards appropriate for the needs of the children
- To assist with the preparation and maintenance of materials and equipment
- To record any accident or incident on an accident/incident form, informing
Senior Managers as appropriate
- To ensure the provision of a high quality environment to meet the needs of individual children from differing cultures and religious backgrounds, and stages of development
- To ensure confidentially of any information received and be aware of safeguarding at all times
- To undertake any other task within the role as deemed appropriate
Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills(This will be provided if required):
Food safety
First Aid
Health and Safety awareness
Safeguarding awareness
